Do you give artist of Art Gallery Opening gift? (I am a relative.)? well.. as it turns out.. he/she won't expect a gift.. but its a very good practice to.. give gifts.. @ these types of occasions.. i'm an artist my self.. and i'd love such a thing... let me suggest.. books.. are a good idea.. as well as.. u being a relative.. i'd even.. think of something thoughtful.. like a donation of a little sum.. to a organization in his/her name.. etc something thoughtful.......... he/she will love it../u... I dont think you have to,though it would be a nice thing to do if you really wanted to do it Yes ... your gift is yourself taking the time to attend the opening or vernasage and be supportive of the artist, their work and their vision. No matter how many times you've had an opening ... they're always nerve- racking and it's wonderful to have people (especially close friends & relatives) in your corner to retreat to. my own experience Though not necessary, that's a very thoughtful idea - I've seen gifts such as a Guest Book to use at the opening, or a bouquet or potted plant to display (that always impresses me when I see the artist has loving support!) Artist here too I don't know, but I think that would be nice of to give a small donation for her/him. Like a gift-card from a store, or to a restaurant to a place. |
