Can you think of any other good techniques I can experiment with? it depends, within each of those categories there are many different techniques you can play with. I mainly am familar with sculpture. In sculpture you could try metal casting, welding, metal smithing (cold), black smithing, neon art, glass blowing, enameling, lamp working, embossing, repousse, assemblages, installation art, video art, multimedia, mixed media, wood carving, stone carving, wood working, wood turning, metal turning, jewelry, mold making, plaster carving, pottery wheel, ceramic sculpture, raku firings, inventing new glazes, papercrete, brazing, silver soldering, (photo) etching, conceptual art, knitting, weaving, fiber art ...and I am sure I left a lot more out. It can take you a lifetime just to experiment with those techniques. And the best is if you are not limiting yourself to existing techniques, invent your own. Look what you have got in your house and what you can do. You can make art out of toilet paper rolls or garbage bags or duct tape. Actually you might have fun with tape sculpture, below a link to inspire you |
