And also, how can you compare photography to paintings, drawings, ect... All art, regardless of how it is created, is by definition communication. It conveys a idea, thought or feeling just like language does. Many photographs do exactly the same thing. How can you look at some of the award winning moments captured by Life Magazine photographers and the like without being moved?!?! The camera is as legitimate a tool for art as a paint brush or pencil. Photography grew out a way to help painters paint better. It was originally used as a tool in art. But has now become an art form itself. Photography can communicate an idea the photographer is thinking or maybe it will show the subjects thought at that moment. I think it's hard to compare different types of art. How can you compare sculpture to painting to photography? They are all different mediums and need to be taken on theri own merits. Because they lens has a human eye and imagination in capturing a layout that deems it to be art. whether it is painted, photographed, sculpted, or written its the soul of the artist that says I have created! I see photography as another form of art. Many agree with this, there are galleries all over the world accepting photography as art. For me it is just one form, I have many. Go see if you choose at www.kaisercreations.com. I have also taken some photos and digitally painted. I had taken fire photo and made it into what one person deemed as a master piece in one review of it. I have been an artist all my life. Are you saying when i pick up my camera I stop being an artist? I think not. |
