Do you have any artistic hobbies or skills?

Art, dance, writing, designing, music, photography and so on...

If so, what are they? - And what style?
Are there any that you do not have as hobby or skill, yet still interest you?

Hala... as hobbies - write poetry (mostly in Spanish), I love working with fabric, design & sew/needlework, some nature photography (especially when traveling), cooking & experimenting with food (which I consider an art), collect vintage/classic films (mostly super 8) and erotic art/photography. I like body art - henna (mostly with my girlfriends), also play piano or guitar sometimes or practice on my tabla.

On a more serious level - I teach tribal Gypsy style of belly dance and perform Jaleo (a traditional style of flamenco), and also write stories, which I call scripts, hehe. Thanks for asking sweetie. :-)

I'm completely hopeless when it comes to arts. I run away from that world...it's too abstract and boring to me... I feel bad because I have no appreciation for it when I think I should. Dancing is different because it's tied into my womanhood/sensuality/non verbal language and probably because it puts me at the center of attention, if I get to be honest LOL

I am a visual arts major.
I paint,draw, do photography etc.
I don't have a definite "style." But I'm a very expressive painter.

i paint in oils in the vein of the expressionists. i also dabble in sculpture and water colors. i admire people who write very well. i'm interested in the natural and social sciences.

I'm good at drawing.
I can snowboard.
I can play piano and clarinet.

i like making art
i copy like mostly of anime that i see
i download wallpaper of anime and draw it thats it no more than that

Gunsmith.

I love Art, any kind. I love to draw, paint, color whatever. I can graphic design and take cool landscape pictures too. I wish I could play a musical instrument though :)

owned a cabinet shop for 27 years. Did all kinds of high end crap. Bent wood, carving, marquetry, hell, you name it. All original designs and I did all of them. We worked with every high falutin' f*ag designer in the business. Sold it young and retired (more or less) to a little patch of mountain land almost two miles above sea level.

Also paint, draw, write and work with glass. Primarily etched and carved, but I do leaded glass and beveling as well. Have a small shop set up and sell stuff to the grossly over rich in Vail and Aspen. It's loads more fun when you don't HAVE to do it. And I only do my own, one of a kind designs.

But I'm not a musician. God knows I've tried, but I'm no good. I have a synthesizer and like to screw around with it, but, like I said. I'm no good at it.

Always working on screenplays and I'm always on the lookout for the next rejection.

But I'll nail one sooner or later. Want Michael Mann to direct it. When I do, all of you can say you "insulted me when!"

Hows that for obnoxious? But it is true.

But I do have a few hobbies and skills I'd like to acquire. Being able to keep a woman, for instance. I've always been good at getting what I want. Really lousy at holding on to it/them/her.

That's an art I haven't mastered. And it is an art.

I currently write, mostly poetry but some short stories as well, in fact I have a few manuscripts I'm waiting to get word back from, I use to play piano and sing, I did a couple of performances but nothing in years, of course I sing for myself but I don't practice scales and such like I should.
Currently I'm trying to pick up jewelry making and guitar, I have the supplies for the jewelry making and I have a guitar but I've been depressed and can't seem to get serious about any of it right now.
I also want to try my hand at painting and drawing one day but who knows!
I did ballet as a child and tap in my teens and early 20's, that was a lot of fun! Closest I get now is dance workouts on DVD, LOL.
How about you?

Origami
Painting (water color and acrylics)
Drawing
Garden design
PC games

I can draw very good portraits, and have painted stained glass windows on some of my home's windows. I was the lead singer of a rock band for a few years, I play the piano, I write novels, I can buy fabric, design a pattern and sew clothes. I can knit or crochet anything with out a pattern, I just look at the thing I want to copy. I have several crocheted bikinis that I designed with bugle beads attached. I can do needlepoint, and embroidery. I also designed matching jewelry to go with the swimsuits.
I love doing creative things. It gives me great enjoyment. I wish I had more time, and could get away from this darned computer.
I taught and did gymnastics and ballet, and also tap and jazz. Since I made my living doing this, I didn't include it as a hobby.

I've been playing classical piano on and off for the last 34 years, and I do a little photography occasionally - but that's about all.

None really. This question actually makes me a bit sad. When I was little I never had piano or ballet like the other kids. My parents never quite understood that there was was more to raising daughters than makins sure they would be good wives who would not embarrass them.

I write political satire, draw political cartoons, dance (hip-hop and club dancing), and design buildings (mainly office buildings).

I paint and draw rather proficiently, I won an art scholarship for college, and have won fist place in several contests (for pottery as well). I paint in Realism and impressionism, primarily.

I write rather well, I've had a few things published, and won a couple of contests.

I'm pretty good at interior design. All of my friends want me to help them redecorate.

There is a group of men and women here who want to learn about each other as individuals. The idea then, is that we won't be as prone to stereotype the group.
This is why a question such as yours does have relevance to GWS. (I just had to encourage you in light of some irrelevant stings I noticed.)
I am an oil painter: realist-impressionist, computer artist: graphic, photographer: landscape and portrait, writer: poetry, short stories, designer: clothing, jewelry and crafts person: sewing, crocheting, embroidery, origami.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share something personal with this group of friends that I'll never meet.
I think that most who post here are creative writers. We have that in common.
C. :)
