Sadism and Masochism as art?

what do you think of the lifestyle? What do you think of art or photography depicting that lifestyle?
And why do some people seem so afraid of nudity in America?

To each his own. If there were no market for it there would be very little art depicting it.
Art is subjective therefore those who wish to see this lifestyle portrayed will make the effort to do so. I personally feel that any portrayal of lifestyles are pretty much historical records and contribute to the overall picture of a society.
Our public aversion to nudity is a cultural concept in real life but I think the nude body in an artistic setting is more acceptable because it is sterile in some ways.
People walking about nude is less about appearance (I think) than the icky factor of body fluids and germs etc. I just don't think people would admit to this.

The lifestyle is fine if you're into that... I'm not. I think art depicting it is a good thing. Art should evoke emotion and not much evokes emotion like sex and seeing another human tied up with terror in their eyes. I really don't get the nudity thing. I think it is harming America. People have this idea of what the naked body looks like and they get it from perfect Playboy models. I think it is better to show a natural naked form so people aren't disappointed in their marriages when they wake up next to someone who's a little less Jenna Jameson and a little more Roseanne. That's my opinion.
