I really want to be a officer in the U.S Army, but I do have 6 years to go. I have to choose 2 electives.?

out of the ones I was given. I choose a few that was really interested in .
Computer Programming,CSI Forensic Science,Debate,Public Speaking,Graphic Arts,Desktop Publishing,Computer Applications,Ethnic Studies,Photography,Journalism,Oral Communication

SORRY FOR MESSING UP THAT SENTECE I WAS RUSHING . choose a few that I was really interested in .

You are still in High School?

I have been thru the electives stuff with both daughters. The key is to make sure that you take things that are both of interest you and are needed to get into college.

Public speaking is a key to confidence. The ability to stand in front of strangers and hold their interest will take you far in ANY career.

Programming is another that has lot's of cross over capability. If you can handle programming running Apps and Desktop publishing are a snap.

Forensics could also be a good cross over choice too. Aside from the science I would imagine that it will challenge your problem solving capability. Critical thinking people are not that easy to come by in any field. If you find you have a knack for it it can lead you in many directions as well.

In my corporate career the people that did best were those that could look at a problem, make a choice and do something. Does not have to be the perfect choice, ya just tweak as you go. Better to make a bad choice and tweak than stick your thumb......you get my point?

It is possible to have plenty of fun and still be well behaved.
No Drinking.
No Drugs.
No morons for freinds (the hardest).

Better to take the advice from us that lived the 60's than learn the hard lessons 1st hand!!! We/I preach because life has already taken it's bite out of our/my butts/butt!!!!!!
