Art display? |
I am taking part in a student art show in a few days and I have a problem. Seniors get their own space, which is nice but I feel like mine is going to be dull. Most of the other seniors work with different mediums like drawing, painting, photography, glass etc. but the only art I have to display is digital photography. Don't get me wrong, I've got some amazing shots, but I feel like it might be a little dull. How can I liven it up a bit? Also, what is a good way to arrange photos that have no relation to eachother? I've taken my favorite shots from the ones I have and they don't seem to connect all that well. If all your work has to be show in a contiguous space, then you may want to re-edit and put together a photo essay. If you can afford it, Art supply stores [JERRY'S ARTARAMA & PEARL PAINT] sell clay coat type boards of various standard dimensions, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 14x17 and 16x20 inch panels that have flush sides up to 3" deep which are a classy way to have each photo come forward off the wall. Several companies make spray adhesives specifically for paper and plastic backed photo prints as well as digital media. If the shots themselves are fine how about bright coloured or unusual frames ? As for the layout arrangement it would help if the pics had some common theme or relation to each other rather than a random selection of your favourites, have you thought of asking your tutor for advice ? |
