prepare myself now,in order to have the right amount of knowledge and increase my abilities once I have graduated and guide myself towards becoming a successful independent person in the arts/entertainment web design industry?
I'm thinking of learning a few basics then mastering others on my own.The internet provides you with many things you can learn at school,this will probably develop my skills.
Then,I wonder is it worthed pursuing this?..I'm online 24/7,yet no support.My parents tell me i should be something worthed it such as ..a 'Doctor'. eh..
I made a mistake,I choose two electives photography and psychology.Photography i have no regret since i also do photography and plan to be a freelance photographer.But,I'm realizing how I'm a Junior in high school and soon to graduate i should of taken Web Design class for my junior year =/ You like photography and want to learn web design. Now there is a marriage made in heaven!
Have you ever heard of making web sites using a content management system (CMS)? CMS is the way to go in the future of web design and what is better, is that it is Open Source Software in general. That means it is developed by many individuals in collaboration, also making it free for you to use and learn.
Go to http://jsas.joomlasolutions.com/ and download a program called JSAS. It has everything you'll need to make your own CMS web site for free. You can also download components, modules and extensions for free. It really is the bees knees of web development. Good luck. first of all dont listen to what your parents say do whatever you want. It's your life not theirs. You should also take some art classes art classes can help build your creativity. You should also take AP Computer science when you get to highschool. Maby even learn some things like dreamweaver, flash , fireworks, photoshop, html, css, xml, php, etc.
