thanks yall any advice is appreciated! Good job!!
The black and white composition of the trees in the berry college series is awesome! The doorknob and keyhole is quite interesting, and the color archways in the berry series is a very nice pic. The circular staircase is a bit too grainy, was that intentional?? You must have used a high io setting, like 800 or more.
I see what you are trying to do with the Black and white home depot pictures with the contrasting shapes. Black and white photography usually requires more use of filters to really get the contrast you are looking for. The waterfall with the moss is quite interesting. The effect would have been enhanced more with a slower shutter speed, so the water would appear to "flow"....
My Absolute favourite pic is the stairway leading up to the (church). feels like you can walk right into this one.
For a beginner, you are doing extremely well.
Some of your photos, such as the coke bottles and the shots at homedepot, that are kind of abstract photos with the geometric shapes take some practice to perfect!! 6.5 I havent gone thru all of them yet.
I like the subject matter better than your last posting,
I really liked the child with holding the pine cone. Well done.
One thing I think might help, for a little more artistic approach, would be to change perspective a bit. For example, the line of trees, or the view down the forested road, could be improved a bit if you got right down on the ground, and shot at a slight upward angle. Just my opinion.
One of the things you can do, is when you shoot a scene, try using different perspectives, by going low and shooting upwards, or start your subject along the side of your frame and including the background along the opposite side of the shot.
I am looking forward to seeing more. Very nice. I will admit that some of them are not to my taste or style, but still a good groouping.
I agree with the b&w sprial staircase being too grainy... Dont know why you would do that intetionaly... so if it was intentional please share.
I dont know if you already do this or not so I will suggest it as a precautionary thing......
1. shoot different angles, up, down, left, right, etc. The shot of the deer and the shot of the little girl holding the pine cone would have been better a bit lower than where you were at.
2. Shoot from a different perspective. ... no this is NOT the same as the last one.. Shoot the child with the pine cone again... this time looking up as tho the photo was taken from beside the pine cone... do the lock picture again from the view point of the key going towards it. ... Things like that make the picture tell more of a story.
Still very good work. You are so very close to having some really good stuff. But you are still having some problems with camera shake or out of focus shots. The church pew shot would really be nice if it was nice and sharp. Same for the little girl. Please tell us what kind of camera you are using. There may be some small adjustments you can make to improve things.
You do have an eye for scenes and composition so I encourage you to keep moving forward. |
