What should I do with my life I'm 17?

I've been looking into colleges and stuff like that for next year. I'm a junior in high school.I don't know what to major in.I know that most colleges don't make you pick a major until your sophomore year but I don't know what to do.My interest are music any that has to with it I'm all over it but I like playing it more than anything, photography , writing, singing. basically I'm into performing art things.I know why I'm asking people for advice I don't know. I want somebody opinion besides my family and friends. what should I do go to college or do something else?

At the university where I work, we have a computer program that incoming high school students can take that asks you questions about what you like and dislike. Then it suggests career areas based on your answers.

There are free online tests like this as well. You said you enjoy performing arts, you can get a degree in this if you prefer. I would suggest your going to your local community college first where tuition is less, classes smaller with more instructor one-on-one available and get all your core classes out of the way.

You can get a 2-year degree in general education that will be transferable to a 4-year degree. You can also get a 2 year in Liberal Arts which is transferable to a 4-year degree.

I wouldn't worry too much in the beginning as everyone changes their mind and interests when going to college.

College.

You should go to college to learn about a topic that interests you, research jobs in that topic, and go for it!

Education. You do not have to make your mind up at this time. You are so young and got your whole life ahead of you. After high school, go to college start with a community college and as you grow you will make your mind up. If you like music take some classes and see if that might be something as with the others you listed. Education is the best thing for you now. You are the only one that can make a decision on what you want to do, don't let anyone tell you any different. The answer is yes go to college and learn as much as you can.

If I was you I'd get my general stuff out of the way first. But sounds like you need to go for a career in the Arts. I'd say try them on for size. You know take a few courses during your Senior year to help you decide which way you should turn.

My sister-in-law changed her whole curriculum her Junior year of College. All because of a movie she saw. So even if you think you're on the right track something else just might pop-up that's more interesting to you. (She worked at this new profession for about 17 years.)

Well, i think that you should definately go to college and just try things that look interesting. At least if you decide not to use your education, you will have a college background and that is always helpful when looking for a job.

Most def. go to University. It will provide you with a foundation of basic education that you need in life. Also, if you love music join the Band in a University, you can major in Music! There are many schools that offer a "General Studies" Major that is designed for people who cannot make up their mind. You're only 17, you are going to take a core curriculum when you enter University so you might fall in love with something that you had no idea you even liked like History, Science, Psychology, or Math. Remember in High school it is a brief intro. of topics but in college it is a little more in depth which might be interesting for you. Good Luck!

Well you sound very talented so u could major in alot. Trust me I know exactly how u feel. I am in the same boat as u. U should start getting pamflets and other stuff to give u ideas. Me I got it worst your lucky, u don't have the ability to major in alomst 7 different things. But just take a deep breath and chose. I know that sounds hard but its not. Think of what u love most. Look that up if it doesn't work out then go to the next talent. Always have a plan B. Wish u the best.

well if your entering either grade 11 or 12, in my area, we suggest that students take the required courses that will benefit you getting into either university or college. if you like photography, maybe film making, singing, drawing. i would suggest entering the Bachelor of Arts at a university and taking media studies. if you like writing, maybe major in English, or even History..any of these subjects will require writing. you just really have to kinda know what your interested in..and take courses in that general area..then later you can specifically go into like one area. like photography.
