Can I have a moment?

Does anybody like photography? Well, I do. Do you consider it art? Well, the good pieces of photography I mean. There are some bad ones.

good and bad are subjective

i would say that photography is an art. no matter what realm you are working in...it takes an artist mind set to create an image worth seeing.

It's hard to look at a great photo and not think of it as art but if you were to get a degree in photography it would be a science degree. Good mix huh?
Composition, color, contrast, film latitudes and light are all components of this 'scientific art' and Ansel Adams three book series: The Camera , The Negative , The Print are all still in print and available at most good book stores and probably avail through Amazon at excellent prices and if you read all three and take margin notes it's about the same as two semesters as a full time student, 12 units, in practical terms of learning value.
