How do i become a party planner? Do i need a degree?

I really like planning parties and i want to maybe start my own business doing this but i dont know where to begin. Right now i'm majoring in fine arts with concentration in photography but if i need a degree for what i really want to do what do i switch to?

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I dont think you need to have a degree,

Get the degree. A degree, any degree, with open a lot more doors than having NO degree.

Second, once you get the degree, see if you can find if you can work for a party planning company. One's that have been in business for a long time have a good customer base. And with your degree, you could move up to head planner or even management. And a plus is you do not have to deal with trying to start and run your own business. You can have you dream of planning parties, and make a good paycheck.

You do not need another degree. Just do some recognized certificate courses in Events Management. Find out if this course is offered at your university...... and with parties everyone wants pictures so you are on the right track. Your concentration in photography will compliment your dreams of becoming a party planner... or rather Events Manager. All the Best!
