I am going for a week in May (11-18) and I am into art music and photography so if anybody can recommend a couple of places that is cool...Thanx You in advance What a great time to visit NYC! Well as if there is a bad time...anyway. You must go to Central park, great place to take pictures and you may still get some of the spring beauty, so many special places in the park....too many to list. Just start at the south end and make your way north. I wouldn't recommend Times square except to see a Broadway show which is a must. You can get half price tickets the day of the show at the half price ticket booth in Times Square if you are on a budget. If you are on a real tight budget you can "second act" some shows which means sneaking in after intermission and watching the second act. It is fun that way but don't tell anyone that I told you. Clearly there are great museums in NYC so the MET would be cool for you but the Natural History Museum is my favorite. Pick up the Village Voice to check out the music scene the week you are there. One of the best things about NYC is the people but you would do yourself a favor by staying out of the real touristy areas and just go hang out in a neighborhood get a sidewalk cafe table at a nice restaurant and do some people watching. If you get a chance to get up on a rooftop or two I highly recommend it. It is a great place to party, see the city from a different perspective and makes for some very interesting photo ops.
