Which is the best brand in digital photo cameras?

I'm trying to decide myself in choosing a digital camera.
i decided to ask advice from the "experts" .
I would like for the participants to give me their opinion.
Which is the best brand in digital photo cameras (overall commonly agreed)?
Is there a consensus in the best camera?

You didn't specify your budget or your photographic abilities or interests, which leads me to believe that you are new to digital photography. Please forgive me making the assumption that you are looking for an entry level camera if this incorrect.

Consumer Reports for November 2006 has ranked the Canon Powershot A620 as the best compact digital camera. It is becoming almost a legend for longevity at the top of various consumer lists. It looks like this model has been replaced by the A630, which I would expect to be just as popular. The A640 appears quite similar and shares the "600" series numbering, so I guess it's just another upgraded version of the now-classic A620. It looks pretty much the same except for being a 10 MP camera.

I own a few Nikon DSLR's and I'd buy the Canon A630 or A640 for myself.

The A620 was rated about twice as good as any as far a battery life. I hope the A630 and A640 are just as good. Use Energizer e2 LITHIUM batteries and you will be happy with battery life.

With this camera, you will find that the included memory card is a cute little token of thanks from Canon, but not much more. Buy a 1 or 2 GB Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III card. You will NEED the increased capacity and write speed to fully realize the benefits of your camera. The Ultra II would be excellent, but if you are really into video, you might prefer the faster Extreme III.

If you want a sleek, smaller camera that will easily fit in your pocket, consider the Canon Powershot SD600. It gives up some of the features of the A630 and 640, but at least it still has an optical viewfinder, which I consider to be essential.

If you want to trim the budget a little, the Canon Powershot A530 or A540, are both great choices. You will need a decent memory card, though. I'd say get at least 512 MB.

The A530 is being closed out, but you may still find it on the shelf in some stores.

You're welcome. I hope the information was appropriate and helpful. Report It

Pentax and Nikon are the best. Nikon cameras are used by most professionals. I prefer Pentax becasue it is user-friendly, and Canon but not Sony.

If you're looking for something professional, you can't go wrong with a Nikon or a Canon. They have some amazing SLRs. The Canon Digital Rebel is a lot more affordable than some of the Nikon ones, though obviously the Nikon ones are more professional and standard.

If you're looking for a point and shoot, then Sony makes some nice ones. So does Fuji with the Finepix series.

If you are not an expert photographer Sony's Cybershot cameras are great. I'm terrible at taking pictures, but with my Sony Cybershot they still turn out looking good.

no concensus which is why there are so many on the market still..I have many friends who love Canon cameras. I myself jsut bought a PS S3 and absolutley love this camera. I would definitly reccomend it as one of the better ones for the price. around 300 bucks. I also like canon because they have so many models. A lot of people also like Nikon. It seems people like whatever kind they have personally invested in. Both cameras are very highly regarded but there are more out there.

Hmm.. Just a suggestion, go for brands which specializes in cameras. Like Olympus. I think Olympus is good! Other brands which sells other products, may not be focusing so much on the production of their cameras.

I met a promoter before, and he told me that brands which do not specialize in making camera's usually get their parts from different supplies and not make them themselves.

I don know, maybe something u can digest.

There is no best brand, unless you're thinking of buying a digital slr. Then there's 2 brands. Brands to consider:
Canon
Sony
Fugi
Nikon
Olympus

first comes Nikon,then Canon,than Olympus.

Close both eyes. No regrets. Sony is the cocacola of Digital cameras. If Sony is a 10, Canon is prob a 8 or 9. Kodak a 5. Fuji a 5 or 6. For starters start with any of the Sony Cybershot series.

Sony

Only NIKON..

HP PhotoSmart is the best because you can do anything with your pictures and try new things with your pictures.

Canon or Nikon. I've always used canons and loved them. Nikons seems to have good professional quality as well.

Canon is "the king" of Photography, with Nikon close behind...

Myself? I Recommend a Canon, Sony, or Nikon

Nikon and Canon. And NEVER Sony. Sony cameras suck big time.
