What is the best way to photograph a t-shirt. What settings should my digital camera be on? |
I need photos of tshirts, but when I take them the color does not always turn out how I want it. I do not know if it is the lighting or what. I try taking it with flash and without to see the difference. Can somebody help me out? Is there a booth or something I can purchase to help me out? shutter speed 10 - 15 at F8, no flash, virtual film speed 400ASA. You'll have vary your shutter speed to get the best shot. try this lay the t- shirt on the carpet.if you have to stand on a chair to get all the t shirt in,the carpet will absorb some of the glare from the flash, you also loose some of the reflected light from windows.hope this helps. Check your White Balance. If you are doing this a lot you might want to invest in an Expo Disc which gives accurate B under mixed lighting conditions. You can go to shutterbug.com and Search for the review they did on it. You have to have a camera that digitally compensates for the flash. Place shirt on a flat surface with no wrinkles on the shirt. Adjust the flash unit to aim up at the ceiling or to the side. Check white balance for light source...e.p. incandescent, fluorescent, sunlight, etc.Try a plus 3 for one shot and see results. If too light drop to -3 and shoot again. This will give you a bracket to decide what looks best. |
