What is the best way to save pictures from a digital camera without a computer?

i want to save pictures, erase my cards, and take more pictures

no computer or internet cafe will be accessable

Walmart will transfer them to a CD for you, but you won't be able to view them without a computer. You can also just keep them on the memory card by taking it out of the camera and using another one for your next pictures, but that gets expensive pretty quickly.

Without using a computer, you would probably have to take the media to a photo processing place and have the pictures printed out.

The photo lab can also put the pictures on a disc for you. But, better yet, find a friend with a computer and photoshop so you can tweak them and then save them to a CD.

One) Use a photo printer like in the old days
Two) Upload the pictures to a photosharing site like Flickr (flickr.com). At most public internet places you can atach a USB device (like a camera) to the computer, and broswe the files.

I think a portable hard drive is an effective solution to your problem.

Once your card is full, just transfer the card contents to the hard drive, erase your card, and keep shooting.

I take one along during long trips. I bought a Tripper from the store referenced below and have been quite happy with it. You can also purchase portable hard drives with screens so that you can review your pictures that you download (Epson P-2000, iPod Photo). There are lots of brands/options to choose from for portable drives.

You can have different places make you a Photo CD that you can look at the pictures with a DVD player on your TV with...

Sandisk memory cards can hold a few 100 photos. You could take them to Wal-Mart to get them printed but you alsi need a Sandisk memory to do that.

Given that scenario, I am also assuming you do not have access to a store that would put them on cd for you.

The real question is how many pictures do you need to store. If it is a very small number, buying another memory card might be the ticket.
