Where is the best place to buy a Digital Camera? At the airports or in the shops?

I think that purchasing a digital camera online is the best choice.
Some of the best online stores with the best prices include stores that you would normally shop at, but sometimes those stores have better prices online than they do in their stores themselves. On a plus side too, you can even get free shipping sometimes if that offer is available. Try these stores to find the best possible price. All of these online stores are my favorites:

shops better bcause better u see and analyse the digital camera yourself and in airports, the prise is twice expensive than in the shops but quality is same...

I would go for a two fold way -

1) visit the shops. They will have models you can touch and feel how they handle, and many times have knowlegdeable people to assist you.

2) I would shop online when you have decided which one you want - most online shops offer better deals. (make sure you know the price of the shop though - if the difference is small, then buy at the shop, easier when you need warranty or service)

Airport shops APPEAR cheaper (tax--free) but usually have made the equipment more expensive than many shops, online or off-line :)

In my experience (having bought a digital camera fairly recently and used Heathrow), much of the discount you see in duty free airport outlets are not that impressive - in fact , if you go to many high street stores you can can equivalent bargains. Also remember that when you buy from a store in your home town, you can take the camera back should it go wrong, or if you require advice. On-line purchase is OK if you can get a truly great bargain, but again you are not able to go to see the seller if dissatisfied in any way.

The "best" place is a brick and mortar camera store. Not the cheapest but you will find more knowledgable sales people. The worst is the K-Marts, Wal-marts, etc. On line is only the cheapest. Airports are going to be the most expensive place you can find and the people know squat.

Nothing in an Airport is cheap. Go to a shop or check online (amazon.com usually has the best prices).
