Samsung 530 is a good camera. It has everything you need and is not too expensive.

There isn't a 'best brand' of digital camera, just as there is no 'best make' of car. It all comes down to individual preference, and what you'll be shooting with the camera.

However, there certainly are 'good brands' of digital camera. Stick with the known brands - Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Nikon etc. And check out some camera review sites. The best I've found is this one -

The think I like best about this site is the way you can see samples of photos actually taken with the camera being discussed. That way you can come to your own conclusion about what you're reading about, not just relying on what someone is telling you.

By the way, I think Nikon is the best brand .. :-)
