What is the best brand for digital camera?even though my hp camera was only like $40 it's great and i've had it for a year you can record videos and most people who see the quality of the pictures on my camera say they're nice
i'm not a camera expert but i do take a lot of pictures and it hasn't failed me yet
if you're really not sure just go to best buy and go in their section where cameras are and test their cameras

In my opinion:
It largely depends on what type and price-point of camera.
High-end and SLR: Nikon or Canon
Low and mid-range: Canon or Fuji
I'm a Canon photographer and would naturally go with that brand all around. However, if you've used a Nikon SLR, it may not be worth the switch to Canon, you'll be used to the features/functions and setup of the brand.
Lastly, I have used Fuji 3MP point and shoot cameras and been very impressed, namely with color replication.
Research brands based on features and price. Canon if you're wanting something professional. Sony for amateurs. I found panasonic to have the best gadgets for the money. I feel that with Canon, you are paying more for the brand rather than what the camera can do. I bought a panasonic FZ7 last March, and it has been AWESOME.
I guess it depends on what you want. Do you just want a point and shoot? Do you want to step up a level and do some manual controls?
Bestbuy.com has a good camera learning programs. You can always check camera reviews before you buy them on places like http://www.steves-digicams.com/.
Good luck! if you want just a simple point and shoot then I would say anything fugi . i myself just purchased a nikon d 40 and they sell for 600.00 not for a beginer though . good luck and happy shooting . depends on how serious you are about photography.. some good ones are canon, kodak, sony, nikon and olympus I have a Canon XTI, and I love it! Canons are good because the lenses never change. So if you were to buy a Canon today and 10 years later you want to buy another Canon...the lenses would still fit...which is nice. If you go on the internet and find one you like...print up the pricing information and bring it to Best Buy...they will price match it...plus you get to take it home that day! Aside from buying a digital single lens reflex type camera and the only brands there to consider are Nikon and Canon, there really ain't no best.
The following brands make excellent cameras and not so excellent ones, depending on the model. Sony, Canon, Fuji, Nikon and Olympus.Now we are talking point and shoot with possibly some manual controls, image stabilizer and some models with awesome zoom.

Another good rule. Even if you don't buy from them, check with B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping). If B&H does not sell the brand you are looking at, don't bother buying that brand.
Please post a new question. Tell us how much you want to spend, what you plan to use the camera for most of the time, and what your prior experience is with photography. With this information, we will be much more helpful to you. 6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
