What's the best/easiest digital camera for a 15 year old girl?

I purchased a Canon with a 10x optical zoom. Digital zoom is not important. Make sure the camera has outputs for computer and or television monitor. I personally prefer the secure digital as a means of storage. It seems to be the industry standard.

I cannot tell you exactly which camera you should buy, but here are some thoughts that will help you decide:

First, set an amount that you want to spend.

Because your daughter is 15, and most kids these days are "technically savvy," simplicity should not be your biggest concern.

A good digital camera is based on 2 things: megapixels and zoom.

Megapixels are what make up the resolution of your camera/photos. The higher the megapixels the better the resolution. If she plans on printing pictures out a 4 megapixel camera will print a beautiful 8X10.

There are 2 types of zoom: digital and optical. Of the two, optical is more important. Optical is how far the lens moves within the camera. Digital zoom refers to how big you can blow up the pixels, this distorts the image. DO NOT BUY A CAMERA THAT ONLY HA DIGITAL ZOOM. Average zooms are about 3X optical, 5X digital. The higher optical the better.

Kodaks are primarily the most user friendly, but other brands are following suit.

Almost anything will do these days. I would get something that's easy to carry around, so that you/she can take pictures anytime. But don't use a cellphone camera, the quality is horrendous even if they have lots of megapixels. I sure wish I had a camera when I was 15 - make sure you/she take a lot of pictures, of everything you do and everyone you meet. You won't regret it years later.
