I need to upgrade my digital camera, what's the best brand to get for under $500? I've owned cannon cameras for years. I've tried others but always come back. fuji film digital camera or a cannon powershot are the best in phototgraphy, and under $500 this would be futile, as a small puppy cannot operate a digital camera. we are the borg, you will be assimilated. Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon all make great cameras. i just bought a canon powershot A460.............just wanna say that ..........it's gr8...cheap &best.. u wud luv it in terms of clarity,easiness,gr8 results everytime&what more its being endorsed by maria sharapova!!!!!!!!!! Look for cameras like the Nikon D40. The reason I bring this model up is that they have just made an improved model of this camera (raised the mega-pixel level) to some large value that you really don't need. The old 6.1 Mega-pixel is more than good enough for most people. As such, this model has dropped in price. You can get a very good camera on a good 35 mm body and a good quality lens (more important) for under $500. This is all relative, everyone has a different opinion. I would suggest you study some of the reviews of the different cameras. What works for me might not work for you. I personally like the FUGIFLIM 5200S, All of the reviews give it a very high rating and even compare it to some of the more expensive SLRD's. It retails for around $275.00. BUT DO NOT BUY WHAT I LIKE, BUT WHAT YOU LIKE AND WHAT HAS THE FEATURES YOU LIKE THE MOST. For the best possible answer, you should post what you enjoy taking pictures of and what features are important to you. There's an absolute ton of decent cameras in that price range, but, that doesn't mean all of them are right for what you have in mind. Fujifilm Finepix S9100...try out this camera...you can find it on the net for $350-500... Look into a Canon or Fuji on www.bhphotovideo.com I have been doing business with them for more then 25 years. For an under $500 digicamera, it would be the Canon Powershot S3-IS because of the 12X optical zoom with image stabilization [39-435mm] and outstanding stereo sound video capability selling for $350 at samys.com. higher end sony cybershot is nice compact camera |
