What is the best quality digital camera?

I am looking for something under $300 that takes great pics! Any suggestions would be helpful thanks!

If you can still find my camera you'd be in luck. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2. 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom, takes excellent 8X10 prints. Has image stabilizer and manual controls. Very good on rechargeables, battery charger comes with it.
Consider Canon A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels, has manual controls; and also consider the Canon A710 IS. Has image stabilizer, only 1 second delay between shots and has manual controls in addition to auto.

For $150 get the Fujifilm Finepix F10, or closer to $300 get the Fujifilm Finepix F30.
