I am planning to purchase a digital camera, pls suggest what features to look for & pls suggest best model? All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on....... I love my Kodak C-330. It takes good clear pictures and videos and I can zoom in and edit. I got it for 140.00 from WalMart It depends on what you plan to use it for and what price range your are able to afford. hope all of than helps... God bless Well if you are going with a good digital that will last at least a year or longer go with a Canon or a Nikon. They are great camaras. My sister in law is a photographer and she uses the Nikon but told me to get a Canon. We took it on vacation and my pictures turned out great. I have some friends who asked who we paid to take pic on our vacation. I now get to brag and say me. It really depends on what you primarily want to use the camera for. Overall, though, I'd look at the megapixel (MP) size. The larger the number, the better quality the pictures will look if you decide you want to enlarge them. This is general, of course, because I've seen 2MP cameras take better pics than 5MP or 6MP cameras. Sometimes, you want to look at durability if you carry it with you a lot. However, cameras with magnesium casings tend to cost more even though they're very durable. I'm no expert, but the Kodak Easy Share is simple to use and got a best buy rating from Consumer Reports. It has both optical and digital zoom, and seems to be reasonably durable. I've been happy, but I'm just a casual user. It does eat the batteries, but I suppose that's pretty common. my advice is to make sure the viewfinder/screen is large its so much better to see with..also purchase a camera with a good battery life ability...digitals really eat them! you also dont have to spend a lot of money for a decent camera--models change and improve constantly and you wouldnt want to be stuck with a less than perfect one because you overspent. I have a kodak and its okay but my next one probably will be a canon. they seem to have a consistantly better review. I would suggest nikon, i think the best camera on the market. You can get a coolpix l-10 7 mp. for about $149.00.whatever brand you buy get the highest number of mega pixels you can find. some stores will try to sell you a 5 mp. for hundreds of dollars when in fact they are worth about $80.00 ( nikon.com) Depends how much you want to spend. There seems to be 3 different categories: the under $200 area; The $200 to $400 range, and then the upper end, under $1000. Sony's DSC-T20 isn't a bad camera for its price. Not only is it sleek and compact, but it has 8.1 megapixels which means a better quality for your photos and you will be able to have it printed out to a poster size and even bigger. Sony's products' quality are good too. I have a few sony products and i was never disappointed with the performance. It would be useful to know what you want it to do, and what you are likely to be using it for (I mean taking pictures obviously, but of what, and does it need to do anything else too, like take movies?). Any of the big brands make great cameras, I like Pentax and Fujifilm for pocket cameras. You can get very good quality cameras in the $150- to a bit above $200-in the Canon line. Such as Canon A560, A570, and A630. I personally love my Sony Cybershot. I have had it for about 4-5 years so it is a little outdated, but works amazingly. |
