What is the best digital camera for $300 or less?

This question if probably asked a lot because they are constanyl coming out with new cameras and I actually did do a search whih didn't really help that much because I don't know a lot about cameras and I also looked at answers given for the same question which were from a year or so ago. I am looking for a more updated answer. Thanks.

I'd recommend the Fujifilm Finepix F30 because of its performance in low light and its good battery life. You might not be able to get it for $300, so I'd buy the F10 used or refurbished.

Please do a search. This question is asked at least two or three times each day. There are many helpful recommendations from people here which hardly needs to be repeated for each new post for the same question.
