Which is the best digital camera in the 5-7 MP segment with loaded features?

please suggest some good models with large storage capacity (of nikon,sony) with in Rs15,000 range

Go for a Nikkon (best) or Olympus (no2). The Canon is also very good too, but Nikkon- unbeatable.

I have a Nikon D1x and it is the best camera I have ever owned.

Canon & Nikon is good, but somehow i bough panasonic Lumix TZ01, it has 5Mp, 10X zoom (up to 12X if you go to3Mpx), you can control the shutter to make it slower & enable you to shoot in the dark. It has ISO 1600, which enable you to get a quite good result in very dark location (Nightshot), The lens is Leica & it has image stabilizer mechanism (needed for 10x zoom) otherwise you will carry tripod everywhere. It is small for such a powerful camera. Actually first I want to buy Canon S2IS or Sony H2 or H5 but they are HUGE so I settle down with panasonic, it is slightly larger than compact camera only. It also can do movie recording at 640X480 @ 30 fps although the mov format is large, my 2Fb SD can only last for 24 minutes, anyway SD card is cheap.
