What's the best digital camera for taking pics from far back?

The Kodak Easyshare V610 has 10x optical zoom and dual lenses (one for close-up and one for landscape) in a small package. It offers in-camera panorama stitching.

One with a big zoom lens, there are a few 'prosumer' models on the market with 12x zoom, which is pretty good but get one with image stabilistation.

There are 2 types of Zoom functions on digital cameras.
1. digital Zoom - which simply magnifies a portion of the existing image.
2. Optical Zoom - which actually magnifies the area or object your are looking at. A camer with optical zoom is the best way to go.

Buy one of the Kodak Digitals. They're really good for taking shots for school events, landscapes, monuments, ect.

try one with more optical zoom I've a Kodak its very good cant think of model name but it was about 拢240 and has 10x was best I could afford .

sony DSC-F828 it has 10x optical zoom , 8 megapixals and can shoot like 7 pics in 2 seconds for action shots . Its a great camera i love it ! Check it out .

Well I am not sure if it is the best are anything like that but I have a Kodak easyshare P850 5.1 MP it will do a lot of things'
There is the P880 8.0 MP it does a little more but it will run you around $500.00
Now Canon has a very good camera with SLR capibilities along with lcd sreen in the back and good for taking picture from a long distance.
Nikon has one too. Olympus has a real nice one
But they are really expencive

If You Want Real Good Photos And Great Range Go With A Digital SLR Camera. I Suggest For A Starter SLR Is The Pentax Digital SLR It Runs About 500-600 Bucks Shop Around You May Find Lower. Digital SLR Is Fantastic Why pay 400 Bucks For A Kodak When You Can Get A Professional Grade Camera For 100 Bucks More. Plus On SLR Cameras You Can Remove The Lenses And Replace Them For Whatever Your Need May Be. Most Digital SLR Cameras Come With A Basic 35-80 Lens. Good Luck

Depends on your budget, if you have under 500 to spend, then go with a consumer level 12x zoom camera of whatever brand you like (i'm partial to canons) If you have a lot more money than that, a digital SLR with a big zoom lens and a tripod would definately give you the potential for much better pictures and performance.
