What is the best digital camera for under $300?CANON POWERSHOT A630-A640 (B&H A630 - $184 A640 - 257; 拢159)
I own a few Nikon DSLR's and I'd buy the Canon Powershot A630 or A640 for myself. These cameras have the larger sensor (1/1.8" or 5.2 mm x 7.2 mm) that is nearly double the sensor size you find in many point and shoot cameras and this translates into better image quality. They allow fully automatic use or total user control and offer several stages in between. The only significant difference between these cameras is that the A630 is 8 MP and the A640 is 10 MP.
If you're going to spend up to $200, look at a Canon Powershot A630. My son has had his A620 for over a year (May 2006) and we both like it. My brother has had his A630 for over a year and it's a very nice camera, also. You can get it at B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping) for $184.
If you can go to $300, look at the 10 MP Canon Powershot A640. This is an excellent camera. It sells for $260 and you can add a very nice memory card for under $40. The images from the A640 compare VERY favorably with the images from a Canon G7, which costs about twice as much.
For either camera, buy a 1 or 2 GB Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III card. You will NEED the increased capacity and write speed to fully realize the benefits of your camera. The Ultra II would be excellent, but if you are really into video, you might prefer the faster Extreme III. These cards cost from about $25-45 at B&H and several other outlets.

Erm in my opinion if u like the color pink i would prefer buying the Sony Cybershot DSC-T20 it is cute small sleek and takes clean crisp photos.It also just hits the $300 dollar limit.I got this camera myself just a couple of days ago and it's is absolutely wonderful! I'd avoid Sony Cybershots altogther! They're only in it for the marketshare, and just to advertise their products. Go for a Canon Ixus(or 'Elph' in the USA) or Powershot, or even a Nikon Coolpix range camera! Any of the camera-branded film cameras , are the ones u should go for. ;-) For $300, I would suggest you to get Canon Powershot SD800IS. It's 7.1 Mega-pixel. It has wide-angle, image stabilization, face recognition, 3.8X optical zoom, and etc. The picture is good. It's 297 at Amazon.com now. If you can afford to pay around $30 more. Getting a Powershot SD850IS is another better choice too (That's the model I am using now). Check out the camera at Amazon.com. The link below is to SD800IS. Hope this help.

I used to sell digital cameras for Circuit City. And I highly recommend the Casio Exilim. Check out the website i'm sure you will like it. if you can go all the way to $300, i'd say the canon S3-IS. i've seen it around the web for just under $300 lately, and it's a mighty nice camera. in fact, i'd say it is about the nicest all around camera i've seen that wasn't a DSLR.
i'd agree with Dr. Sam that the canon powershots A640 and A630 are really good cameras, although if you need image stabilization, the powershot A570 IS or A710 IS might be a better bet.
if you don't need image stabilization, and like a manual zoom, there's also the fujifilm S6000fd. feels more like a DSLR and has all the bells and whistles. Here is the PERFECT camera for you!
You should get the PENTAX Optio W30. Its slim, sleek, stylish, with 7 megapixels, has lots of features like a macro setting for pictures up to half an inch away! Plus its waterproof down to 10ft for 2 hours!!
I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 for a few years and I have never had ANY problems with it at all! It is such a great camera and I LOVE it!

I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 (a slighty older version) for a few years now and I absolutely LOVE it! While buying a digital camera:
Look at its clarity,the no. of mega-pixels, the size of the display,Its appearance,It must be shockproof and scratch proof , it should have a bright flash,it should have a good zoom and lastly it should see whether the camera has rechargeable lithium ion battery.
