Whats the best digital camera for taking night shots?

I find that the Canon EOS 1ds MkII takes fabulous shots in any light conditions, the L series lens i use help but you cant beat a 16.7 million pixel sensor.

Any digital slr will be the best for night photography providing u know what you're doing, the Canon eos 5d is the daddy. if u want a compact then they're pretty much the same. you'll also need a tripod.

Agreed. Night shots are hard to get done right w/out spending a lot.

Get a DSLR, a decent lens and a tripod. Read the manual and PRACTICE.
