What digital camera has the best quality video mode?No No No. Don't listen to any of those SONY answers. The latest and greatest Sony Digital Still Cameras still only do video quality up to 640x480 pixels at 30fps. Just about every digital camera with video capabilities shoot at this same quality.
If you want the BEST digital camera at shooting video, it's gotta be the new Canon Powershot TX1. The TX1 shoots at 720P resolution (which is full HD quality) and is capable of outputting 1080i straight from the camera via cables to your HDTV.
Let's compare pixels to pixels. Sony's cameras are 640x480 which equals 307,200 pixels. Canon's TX1 shoots at 1280x720 which equals 921,600 pixels. That means that the TX1 is 3 times better than any of the Sony cameras.
Not only that, the Canon records in stereo sound.
But, with every upside, there's a downside. Being that the quality is so high, you're gonna chew right through memory cards recording in High Def mode. Last I heard, 4 minutes of HD video will chew right thru a 1GB card.
Then there are better units out there than this Canon that'll compress video much better and are able to fit a whole heck of a lot more video footage per GB, but you'll also have to pay a premium as well. Example: Sanyo's Xacti HD2 and Panasonic unveils SDR-S150. Sony Cybershot i have a sony cyber-shot...AMAZING quality video mode. trust me! i would say the sony cybershot because the pics and videos come out clear my suggestion
