What digital camera would work best to take close-ups of coins, stamps etc?

Basically, any camera with a macro lens or with threads to install close-up lenses will work. I'm real happy with a Nikon D70 and a close-up lens threaded into the front of the lens.

If you want a fairly cheap one then look for the Sony F717. It's quite old now and should be able to be picked up quite cheaply.

It has excellent macro focusing, and should be perfect for what you want.

any camera with a macro setting I personally use a cannon rebel xt but I use a close up lense pricey but worth it...

Any 5 Megapixel Camera with a Macro option will take close detailed pictures. You need a good computer and printer to go with it if you are doing it yourself.

Any good camera with a macro capability will help.
I use a Nikon coolpics 5700 for those shots.
