i seen olmpus fe 250 model, is it nice? or can i go for sony There are a lot of reasonable cameras out there, but my favorite brands in any price range are nikon and canon. Its easy to suggest them because between the two they have 90% of the professional (SLR) market; and my personal choice (canon) consistently ends up as a top choice on consumer reports for their consumer cameras as well.
I'm not saying Olympus or Sony is bad, just a preference, you will want to decide for yourself which you like best. Once you do its usually best to shop for features in this order (always max what you want from one before going to the next, until you reach your budget):
1 - Brand - Which brand of camera do you look at pictures from and go "WOW", who's colors "POP", not all sensors are created equal. (a low end Canon, or Nikon will look better than a top of the line Polaroid or Aiptek even if the latter has twice the resolution; you'll end up being able to print really large mediocre pictures)
2 - Features - (Zoom, Auto Focus, Image stabilization, size, ease of use)
3 - Resolution (Mega pixels) - If its 4MP or more you will be fine, and finding anything less than 5MP these days will be a chore, so just look at this last.
I will link to two cameras I usually recommend to my customers that are in your price range, the Fuji is out of stock for the moment, but I am sure it can be found at other retailers. (I used to recommend a Nikon we carried too, but it has since been discontinued.)
