Digital camera recommendations please? Which is the best buy you can recommend just now? I am in the UK ThanksBest is a realtive term. You need to know what kind of pictures you will primarily take. Are interchangable lenses important to you? What size requirements do you have? Any weight restrictions? What about compatibility? Do you want a flash built in? Do you have any camera experience? Do you favor market share over niche features? Will you be using it anywhere other than the UK? Two 'must have's': 1. a Docking Station. 2. large capacity rechargeable battery. Not AA type.
A 6 MB camera with a 5/6 zoom should be adequate unless you are talking professional status. Should cost around 拢200 - 拢250. If you can afford this - excellent choice. The Docking Station is brilliant as it plugs into one of the USB ports on your PC. When you place the camera in it the battery starts to recharge. You press another button and all your photos appear on the PC. Excellent system. AA batteries, rechargeable or not do not last long especially when using Flash. Mine is a Fuji FinePix601Z which is the best I have had out of four. Lastly if you can afford a 1GB card and a spare battery all the better. It takes quite useful Video footage as well. samsung digimax, we got ours from Argos ,it was reduced from 拢229 to 拢149 then when we went to pay it had been reduced again to 拢99, so i think we got a good bargain .
i also have a tiny jvc, but it doesnt have a flash, takes brilliant pics outdoors though, and inside Graceland where you cant take pics with flash , they came out wonderful . hello,
the basic difference between a digital camera and a normal camera is that digital cameras do not have a film rather the picture is developed 'digitally' in the camera itself, most modern digital cameras are much better than their mechanical counterparts, however beware some of the newer digital cameras have very low photo quality.
This site I believe offers the best advice when thinking about new digital cameras or trying to find a good second hand one, i think there should be a section that directly answer your question... check it out...
http://imedia.atspace.com/sx.htm I have the Nikon Coolpix 885. I think it's a great camera. Good for trigger happy beginners, sufficiently packed with lots of other goodies for amatuers and seasoned photographers' alike, with enough things to tinker in.
It's got a rechargeable lithium battery, the newer versions allow for normal batts to be used.
In the PC its just plug and click. Pretty easy, I'd say.
It's pretty cheap. A new one would set you back about 160 - 250+ pounds, that's really cheap.
You should check out cameras within the Nikon and Canon range, they're extremely reputable in the camera and digital photography arena and their cameras don't disappoint. |
