What is the best printer to print pictures from my digital camera?

I have a picturemate printer, the original one, and about a year after it came out many stores stopped selling the ink cartridges for it and I have only found them at Best Buy. There is not one around here. It is not working good anyway and I would like something else.

What is the best to get? I would like one that you can put your memory card in but a printer that hooks into a computer and prints good quality pictures will work fine too.

Epson has been the leader in making photo printers for many, many years.

Their R260 uses an ink that when dry will not run and is said to last as long as the dyes used in colour photographic printing. The added benefit to this printer is that you can print directly on your printable CD. This is an entry level printer so it costs under $100.

Note: MensaMan, your IQ is slipping. Those two stores you take your memory card to, do not use inkjet printers ... the images that you get are true photographic prints.

I take my memory card to Walgreen's or Jewel-Osco. Let them take care of the printer and refilling the ink.
