What is the best digital camera/camcorder i can buy for a good price?

I am going on a trip and i want a good camera that can take sound videos and all. how much does it cost and where can i get it.

please help

Edit* Also you could rent one for cheap to. Try some renting stores around you area.

I have a Sony Camcorder -- it takes excellent video & has great sound. It also takes stills, but it takes a while for it it switch from one mode to the other (thus, you are apt to lose the shot if you need to snap-fast).

I have an HP Digitial Camera -- It not only takes great pictures, but has an "action mode" (it will take short* movies with sound) *I believe one minute long.

Make sure whatever you get is PC compatible with your system.

I bought mine at Circuit City. I forget the cost - and prices/models have changed since then. (Both are good brands, however.)
