the camera with 7-8 mega pixels, auto adjust in dim light,settings for the aperture shutter time, with maximum number of shoot modes,with big lcd screen and last but not the least..with excellent picture quality. You completely forgot two essential requirements when buying cameras; price range and what form of camera do you like (bulky zoom cameras, ultra compacts, normal ones, Digital SLRs).
Anyway I'll give you suggestions.
Zoom Camera: Canon PowerShot S3 IS

Ultra Compact: Canon PowerShot SD800 IS

Normal Entry Level: HP Photosmart R817

Digital SLR: Nikon D80 (if you wanna take your photography to the next level)

They are all consumer cameras. Also I disregarded your megapixel needs as megapixels is only one factor on making a camera great. And megapixels also depends of what kind of user you are and how big do you print your pictures. So just follow my recommendations and I bet you'll be the happiest photographer out there.
Hope this helps. Yesterday I saw in the local market a camera of cannon . I am sure it is a very good digital camera. Please try in your area to buy it. HI there,
I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ7, with most programming options (PASM and several specific programs). One of the factory settings is "candle light", with very high gain. Night sky shot is another seting. Only those settings may produce some noise on MOST cameras.
Apart from this, zoom is x12, optical stabilization is provided for slow shots (less than 1/15 with bare hands!). FZ7 has only 6Mp, but there is a new FZ8 with 7Mp... look for it!
Price should be around $400, it's a bridge (SLR-like compact) cam.
Have fun! I would suggest the Canon A550 for the following reasons:
* Very good photo quality, noise levels low through ISO 400 (in good light)
* Well built for the price
* Very good performance
* LCD visible in low light
* Some manual controls
* AF-assist lamp, good low light focusing
* Good movie and continuous shooting modes
* Impressive software bundle
* Uses AA batteries; great battery life
* USB 2.0 High Speed support |
