Best digital camera for absolute beginners?

I now finally own a computer and love to "surf" internet and, "e-mail" but am not knowledgable about downloading photos on to the computer, so I need a camera which will give me all the basic information plus produce quality pictures.

I would say the Kodak easy share hands down. My mom is electronically-challenged and even she has an easy time using this camera. The picture quality is great as well.
