Wal-Mart will have decent, fairly inexpensive cameras. It all depends on what you're looking for and what kind of balance between features and cost you want. The very best place to look is www.dpreview.com (digital photography review). Tons of great reviews from the community and helpful pricing guidelines.

A word of caution on web based prices and chains, always check to see that you get the US warntee and product. You do this by finding out the location of the company and calling customer service.
