What is the best digital camera you owned(if you have a nice one let me know)?

I brought a four hundrend dollar camera and within a couple of months it broke. I was having problems with it from the start, but I just thought maybe it was because it was so advance I just wasn't using it right. I want to know whats the best camera you can get for it's value? It doesn't have to be exspensive, just take desent pictures!

I've owned several Nikon digital cameras and loved every one of them for its own special purpose. The "best" one is now my D200.

If I was buying today for the $400 range, I'd look at a Nikon P4 or a Canon A620. While I love Nikon cameras, I'd suggest the Canon A620. We did a lot of shopping while trying to stay in the under $400 range and this is exactly what we bought for our adult son before he went on a trip to Europe. For that money, you can get the camera and a one gigabyte memory card. The A620 lets you control everything, if you know how, or it takes great shots in several automatic modes. This has been the Comcast Shopping Top Choice for months now. It uses "AA" batteries, too.

Kodak and Fuji so far have the best.

Get a sony cybershot. I had an hp and kodak one and they both broke because i dropped them on the lense (when it was open). Cybershots are really easy to use and look really stylish .

I get excellent results with Canon and Sony. Currently I own a Sony Mavica 300 and Canon SD400. The qualitys are great and the new Canons are lightweight. Ive never had great results with a Kodak.

I have a kodak easy share with the printer dock; around $200.00. It is great. It takes high defination pictures and you don't have to hook it to your computer to print the pictures if you don't want to. Great value for the money.

My Fuji E550 has great specs but I had to return it 4 times in 16 months. The zoom motor jammed three times and it totally quit once. I shot less than 1,000 photos on it. The camera is total lemon but the service department is good.

Perhaps you can return your camera to the manufacturer for repairs. It should still be under warantee if you only had it a few months.

The best digital camera is almost a religious argument. :-) I prefer Canon and have had great success with various models. For the serious photographer, the PowerShot G6 is incredibly powerful and takes amazing pictures. (I've had mine for a couple of years now). If you're looking for a good point-and-shoot that's reasonably priced, the PowerShot A530 is a great buy at about $175 from online retailers like Buy.com, etc. (5 Mega Pixel; lots of great capabilities, uses SD memory). I've purchased a variety of PowerShot models for others and haven't had any problems yet.

Canon S2IS!!!
one of the few cameras having 12x Zoom!!!

I have owned the canon G2 But i was sick of having blurry pics, so i just got the Sony h2 because of the zoom
The g2 was a very nice camera
and the konica Minolta small compact really amazing pics 5 mp but the pics 5 of the came out very blurry to.

I have a NIKON Coolpix P1, it is a $550 camera and I was able to get it for $300! It features the Nikon Nikkor 3.5x Zoom lens which is not plastic unlike many cameras, it is 8.0 Megapixels, and allows you to transfer photos wirelessly over a bluetooth or wi-fi network! Overall is the best camera I have scene and dollar for dollar will beat any other camera on the market in features and in quality! Plus Nikon is renowned for their expert customer service!

I have a Nikon D70 that I just love! It's probably too expensive for your budget, though, so I recommend any Nikon Coolpix that is within your budget. Nikon rules!

We have 2 digital cameras. A Sony Cybershot 3.2 megapixel, that is about 5 years old now, and a Nikon Coolpix 8700 8 megapixels, about a year old now.

The Sony is mine, and I love it. We have taken well over 9000 pics with it and it is still going strong. The only thing we have had to to do it was take it in to get the focus adjusted after 4 years and about 8000 photos. We have dropped it on the lens while it was out, and it was just fine. A week after we bought it, hubby was taking pics of a storm, when wind blew rain under the umbrella getting it wet and it still worked no problem (not recommended though)

The Nikon, well it takes good pics, and hubby loves it now. Within a month of owning it, we had to send it in for repairs, completely covered by warranty, as it was not focusing correctly, a month later we got the camera back. Since then it seems to be doing great. He loves the camera cause he can do night photography on it, and has gotten some rather nice lightening pics.

In my opinion, the best digital camera on the market right now is the Sony DSC-R1. It will cost you about $800 after the mail in rebate.

Certainly, this is the best fixed lens (ie not a digital SLR) camera available. But, I find that it outperforms entry level digital SLR cameras with their crappy kit lenses and most entry level dSLR cameras even after you put a decent ($300 to $400) lens on them. If you want a better camera, you will need a digital SLR with a CMOS sensor (as opposed to a crappy CCD sensor). The cheapest that will run you is a Canon Digital Rebel XT with a 28-200 EF lens on it (maybe $1200 for the setup).

However, I wouldn't recommend an SLR for most people. It takes some skill to make an SLR take decent pictures and most people simply don't know how. They are better off with a simple point and shoot camera like you can set the R1 to act as.

Find the one that say Cannon on it, then look for 12.8 MP, if its there , then you holding it in your hands.
