I am going to video several people sitting in a chair indoors with a digital video camera. What type light would I need and would a soft light or fluorescent light bulb work? What watt would I need? Should the light be placed above or below the camera? Check if your camera has a white balance function. This adjusts the camera for different lighting conditions. If it does, you can use just about anything as long as you set the camera correctly. If not, go with something that looks natural on the camera. Incandesant tends to look yellow, and florescent sometimes looks blueish, so experiment and see what looks best. If you have several lights, place them on both sides of the camera and above and below to light them from all sides. If you just have one light, place it at camera level shining on the subjects at an angle. If you have two lights, put one on each side at camera level shining on the subjects at an angle. |
