I am an ameture.Want to shoot both still photos and video clips. What should I buy- a camcorder- a digital camera or a camera mobile phone. Do not want to spend too much

A digital camcorder with still functionality is your best bet. If you go for a digital (still) camera that records video, the video quality will be horrible -- as goes for a camera/video phone.

digital camcorder would be the better choice
