What is the best affordable digital camera for me?

i am a college student and i want to buy a digital camera with very good qualities but of course i prefer it to be affordable and reliable.

Fujifilm Finepix F30. It's $300 (affordable?). It goes up to ISO 3200 and has very good battery life.
