I had a similar Sony model (T-200) and found I did not care for it at all. I do have fairly large hands and found that the tiny buttons were hard to find and navigate. I also had a problem with keeping my fingers out of the way of the lens as it is mounted in the upper corner. I was also very disappointed with the image quality in low lighting conditions. Soft and grainy.

The Nikon is a nice model and Nikon makes a quality product. Optical zoom is also preferable to digital zoom and the Nikon is 5X optical.

Personally I prefer the Canon cameras when it comes to compact and subcompact digital cameras. The model I would suggest in that ballpark figure (though unfortunately a little more expensive than the Sony even) is the Canon SD870 IS. I purchased the SD 890 myself and am thrilled with it.

The model I would most say to stay away from out of your list is the Polaroid. The cost is low, but I think you will be very disappointed in the results and likely not get a good value out of what you spend.

Also don't get caught up in Megapixel hype. The camera manufacturers want to make you think that bigger is always better and that a 10 megapixel camera must be better than an 8 megapixel camera. Not so.

It is the detail of the the picture that the camera captures that counts, not the size of the file it creates. The quality of the lens, the processor and the cameras sensor make a much bigger difference than the size of the image. A large image that is grainy or has soft details is far less desirable than a smaller one that is sharp and has little noise.

This is a good site for camera reviews and has an interactive buying guide.

I definitely agree with Sean. if you're looking in the same price range as something like that Sony T70, why don't you check out the Canon SD850 IS instead. I find the touchscreen on the sony still cameras to be a huge hassle. As far as the other cameras go, stay away from Polaroids. Casios usually tend to take good enough pictures but they don't hold up very well. I'd give some serious look to both a Canon SD850IS and also a Canon SD1100IS if the 850 is a little too expensive.
