Best digital camera for you?

what do you think is the best digital camera for you? why do you think it's the best?

There is no single best camera. I use both an Olympus DSLR and a Sanyo compact camera.

MY DSLR is used under certain circumstances. I know I will be taking pictures and carry the larger camera will not hinder me.

The point and shoot is carried on a daily basis and goes with me if I am unsure I'll be taking photos and when carrying a large camera is not practical. Such as a 10 mile nature hike.

Knowing what type of shooting you do and what your needs are is crucial.

I think the best for me would be the Nikon D3. It would use all my film lenses and be the same focal length, and has great high ISO for low light. :-)

my sony cybershot DSC-H5 is my best for macro shots. I have a pentax k100d [a dslr] but I don't use it much because it has horrible focusing range.. the quality on it is good though, on the things it can take pictures of. haha

Not a clear question. different needs and skills lead to different types of cameras. I have a Canon AT-1 35mm film 50mm and 70-210mm lenses, an Olympus 35mm film point and click, Canon A520 digital point and click, and the new to Me toy Canon 30D digital SLR with 18-55mm and 70-300mm lenses. A big issue is how much $ you want to spend. I usually get Canon but I also have an Argus C-3 a very old 35mm point and click niknamed the Brick.
