What's the best camera I can afford? |
I am willing to spend $350 or less on a digital SLR camera, what would be the best choice? Yes, i understand that $350 isn't that much money for a camera, but my good camera just broke, and I need a backup one anyway, so I really just need something cheap and quick, until I school is over so I can start working again. You can either spend just under $475 for a Nikon D40 with 18-55mm lens or buy a nice used Nikon "N" series camera on craigslist with a lens for about $150 and then save your money for the DSLR Link to D40 You won't be able to get a DSLR for $350... unless it's used. I think your best bet is to buy a decent name brand one for your first camera, Paying more now will mean you won't have to buy another camera or spend more later. I would recommend going with the Canon Rebel XT. That is an unreasonable price for what you want. The Nikon D40 is about the best value for dollar available now, and well worth the price. |
