Do you think Bridal Portraits should be taken a month in advance to the wedding or on the Wedding day? |
my photographer wants to take them at least a month before but i think it would be nicer to do them on that day. what do you think You should get some before and on the day. That way even before the wedding you know you will have some pics that you like from a controlled setting (if he does digital you can see what the pics will look so you know if they are good) and on the day you should get the pics that show the real emotion of the day. You should have both, not one or the other. I think it is good that he has offered you this. it's ok to sit for a posed pic before the big day, but make sure you still get all the shots you want on that day. It won't matter in 20 years...you'll just remember the beautiful pictures! It is your day and whatever you want should be it. Some people do take them a month in advance in case they want to post an announcement in the local paper. I had mine done the day of and they are beautiful! KeyWord......YOUR WEDDING....your paying for it (iguess?). I would have them taken the day of. Congrat!!!! And God Bless Your Marriage Always. well i have seen bridal portraits done befor some done as a couple in some nice clothing and some with just the bride and her dress they were great ideas for the particular couple due to they gave us all a framed photo of them as a thank you and had a 16x20 photo of the bride in a park alone at the entrence of the wedding reception very classy. just think about it your wedding day might rain or you might not have time for some breath taking photos 30 miles away at a breathtaking venue so look into it I guess it depends on how many you are talking about. If you mean the typical few of the bride and groom or just the bride then I would say to do it the day of the wedding. If you want a ton of close ups and other poses, which by the way you will never look at or use after the wedding is over, then do it ahead of time. I think that both of you are correct. Where I live the bride always takes bridal portraits a few weeks before the wedding. These pictures are just of the bride, nobody else. By doing this, the photographer has plenty of time to set the bride up in beautiful artistic poses. You can even take these pictures in other places besides the venue where the wedding will take place. The day of the wedding more pictures with the bride by herself are taken. Pictures with the groom, wedding party, and family are also taken. On the wedding day, it is very hectic and there isn't a ton of time to set up poses. The pictures don't turn out quite as good as the other ones that are taken beforehand, but they are filled with so much wonderful emotion from that day. By using both of your ideas, you can get the best of both worlds. |
