ok So I bought the HP Photosmart R725 digital camera at Target yesterday. I have never had a digital camera before and is totally lost. So far I only know how to take a picture, change the settings, and upload pictures on to my computer. I was just wondering about what accesories to buy. Do I need some sort of a memory card? Is a camera case mandatory? I am really lost about what to buy and what is worse...I spent all my money on the camera and was stupid enough to not save up for the accesories and is pretty much broke. Help please! Sorry, you wasted your money on a horrible camera. HP cameras only last about 1-2 years of use then they fail misablely. Plus their imagine quality is not as good as Canon, Nikon, or Sony. Here are a few esstianals that I aways buy with my Point and Shoot cameras:
1. 1GB of memory, you need a SD card. I would recommond the Kingston 1GB SD card. Its a realtively cheap card compared to the competitors, I got mine for $25. You dont need any of those super fast cards since your camera is not as fast as the card. It would be a waste of money. Get a basic card nothing fancy, I use the basic one and its totally fine for my SD700IS.
2. A camera case. I find it mandatory because, well I paided $300+ on a camera, might as well protect it from a small fall and other elements. Plus if you put your camera in a bag or a purse the screen can get scratched so the case protects it. Get a genaric bag, like Tamrac or Tek. Well I dont really think people would wnat to steal a HP... Go to Best Buy or Circuit City and try putting your camera in different bags to see if it fits. Get a snug one but not too tight. You definitally need a memory card. Most cameras will only hold up to 10 pic without a card. Other then that you dont really anything else Unless you're taking and uploading a lot of huge pics to your PC you can pretty much wait to buy a memory card. You can set your camera to take good, better or best quality pics. The lower the quality, the more pics you can store. Also you can set the size of the images. The larger the size, the less you can store in your camera. Usually the internal memory is enough for beginners. Memory cards are not that expensive. Save and then go to Wal-mart and check out external memory cards. |
