Santa bought me a new digital camera for christmas (WOO-HOO) now I want to print out pictures on my computer, do I need special (shiny) photo paper in my computer, (as you can tell) Im only new at this. any help will be appreciated Thanx. Your printer will put the photos out onto regular paper, and even has a menu choice for the type of paper you're using. The photos will look sharper on glossy photo paper, however, and some inkjet printers even have a special 'photo' ink cartridge for extra-fine resolution. You can find out a lot more online, or by looking at the properties of your printer in Print Setup of the program you're using to view the photos. Good luck with them. Depending on how much you want it to look like a real photograph, you will need some photo-grade paper which is made for whatever kind of printer you have.
Most printers for photos are pretty cheap these days but the paper and the ink gets to be expensive.
There are some good internet companies where you can upload digital pictures and get really good prints back the next day for like 12 to 14 cents per print, which is hard to beat.
