How can I get pictures off my digital camera's internal memory and transfer them 2 my computer without the cd

I lost the cd that came with my camera and it wont work if i just hook the camera up to the usb , There's computers at school that are more modern than mine with the slot on the side of the monitor, im not sure exactly what the slot on side the computer is for but I see them inserting some type of chip and I was wondering if I could purchase somethin like that and download (or upload, whichever one) the pictures at school. Let me know what i need to buy please!

The CD probably just has the drivers for your camera on them. I'd bet that if you go to the manufacturers website and search for driver downloads, that it would work!
Either that or you can go to CompUSA or something and buy a Card Reader (specific to the type of memory card in your camera, or a Multi Card Reader, for many types) - and attach THAT to your USB, and then pop in your memory card and the card reader will read the card and you can get all your pics off. Good luck :)
Same thing happened to me haha

Take it easy,
miR :)

There's a picture on wikipedia so that you know generally what you're looking for if you decide to go get one for your computer:

good luck :)

buy a USB cord, it will transfer staight from ur camera to the file of your choice on your computer. They are relativly cheap and can be found at any electronic store like Radio Shake, Target, even bestbuy, and Walmart.

Have you tried contacting the manufacture or going to there web site to down load the program for putting them on your computer?

If you have Windows Xp or Vista, you don't need the CD for the camera.
Use the USB cable that came with the camera and plug it into your USB connection on the computer and camera. The small end goes into the camera.
Then turn the camera on. Windows XP will read the camera flashcard and you will be able to see the pictures. It is fully compatible with most cameras.
Good luck.

If you use Windows Xp or Vista, it should be not a problem. it will detach your device automatically via your USB. If not search the device manually.

That slot on the side of your school's pc could be a built-in card reader.

Download a free copy of Picasa2 this is a grear program
and will do more than what you want to do

and it's Freeware
