I need to buy a blank CD so i can put the tape onto the CD. well, how do i do that?! i dont have the video camera with me. the tape says "Mini DV" in the top left corner, "Fujifilm" on the top right, and "60 DVM60 60/90" on the bottom left and "ME" on the bottom right. what type of CD should i buy? when i buy it, how do i convert it? what will i need? I NEED ANSWERS ASAP, SO GURU'S ON ELECTRONICS, I NEED YOU!!!

<3 I imagine there are adaptors available that will allow you to use the Mini DV tape in a regular VHS VCR. Using this adaptor you could hook it to a PC equipped to take television style input. This would allow you to record the tape to the PC.
Alternately if you can get the camera to play the tape in, you can likely hook the camera straight to the PC. If you just want the video on a CD/DVD you might be able to find a DVD recorder and hook the VCR or camera to that.
Conidering it sounds like you're not wanting to invest a lot if any money in this project you might need to find someone with the nessesary equipment allready. You might even check with the teacher who you borrowed the camera from.
I beleive there are also people who will digitize taes for a fee but I have no idea what that might cost. Check in the yellow pages under Video Editing maybe.
If this is for a college or even a "richer" high school there is likely an AV area that might be able to make the conversion. Many colleges have local television stations and some HSs do thier own localized TV. |
