New digital camera takes fuzzy photos?

I bought the new ge 10mp camera and it takes crap photos. Ive tryed every setting the only time the pics look sort ok are at 2-5 feet. and even then they just dont look sharp they look washed out. anybody know why this is and what is a good camera for $250

I have the new GE camera too, the pink one...hehe and it's the same 10MP camera. Do you focus the picture before taking it? When I first got mine I took a few blurry pictures and some really good ones and then I figured out that I have to press the button the take the picture slightly until the camera focuses itself and if the "box" in the middle of the screen turns green then push the button all the way. If the "box" turns red then it would mean you may be too close to the object and will have to back up. Also if you absolutely have to take a picture right at that moment, press the button all the way and make sure you are at a distance and the camera will focus itself really fast and hopefully take the picture. Not all cameras are meant to take pictures really fast, most have to focus themselves and "think" before taking the picture which can be annoying but all the cameras I've had take an amount of time to take a picture.

here are some examples of pictures I took while answering this, keep in mind I also have to 10MP GE camera:

here is what the picture looked like when I pushed the button slightly til the camera focused and the "box" turned GREEN--- http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i98/je...

here is what a picture looked like when I got closer to the object, slightly pushed down on the button, and the "box" turned RED--- http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i98/je...

If you really want to take a close up of something, use the zoom and do the whole slightly pushing the buttong thing. If you're too close the flash will wash out the picture.

I hope that helps. Mine works great now and I haven't taken one blurry picture since I figured it all out...well except that picture I took on purpose :)

*edit* I took a picture of my parrot by pressing the button all the way and the camera took the picture after a fraction of a second [it depends though on how far away, what kind of camera, and other things so don't quote me on that as a set time] and I wanted to get my parrot doing something so I had to take the picture at the moment. It came out very well and I was about 1.5 feet away if that matters. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i98/je...

Are your pics out of focus or blurry? Is any of the picture sharp? If blurry, it's probably a low light situation, with a slower shutter speed, and there is movement. If out of focus, try pressing the shutter release button half way down, until you hear a beep, or see a light on the screen turn green. Then your pictures should be in focus. Hope this helps, Good Luck!!

GE just started making cameras this year !
